![]() ![]() NI + Me = Love/Hate, but I tried to be realistic in this review. 5 is for the annoying presets and the ones that almost punctured my ear drums and/or my speaker cones - watch out! don't hit above C4 or below C1 without caution!! (on some of them) If you realize that the reasons I took off points don't affect your decision – I say BUY IT, or just get Komplete 7. the -1 is for hyping it and acting like its a new technology when it isn't and the other. So, maybe the preset designers just didn't do it justice. Of course, I haven't programmed it or used the modules to build my own synth yet. If you are looking to recreate hitting a drum or plucking a string, I would say just do the real thing or use Sculpture. It can get some cool sounds that have an organic synthesis type of sound. Calc-U-Synth was created using the Reaktor Blocks framework, which means that if you own the full version of Reaktor, you can incorporate the blocks into your own creations. I will say this one is my favorite for electronica. Reaktor is a software synthesizer that enables users to craft their own exclusive sounds with the aid of diverse building blocks. As a a sound design tool Prism is not as good as Sculpture (Logic built-in plug with same technology) and it is above Ableton's Corpus(?) effect and Collision(?) instrument. The piano/tine/hammer hit kind of sounds are much more synthetic. The string pluck effect is probably most realistic one along with maybe the bell type sounds. I was planning to just run through them but I ended up jamming on a few. I just played the presets and some were quite addictive. We have created for you a rating of the Best 10 Reaktor Instrument VST Plugins as the most downloaded and according to the excellent reviews of musicians. Of course, it does have those annoying out of tune presets that so many "sophisticated" synths have now that I hate and no one will ever use, not even a sound designer, because they will record an actual broken piano instead of a fake one… Moving on… I didn't program anything or touch any knobs. So, this time just playing for fun, the presets were great. ![]() I think I used it before when I was looking for something specific and didn't find it. So, I started to write a post to that effect until I realized that I should give it a fair shot. Also, tremolo-like sounds or more classical reverbs are possible. Beautiful shimmer reverb-like sounds can be produced which fites perfectly for textures. With the help of granular synthesis, many different effects are possible. I got it as part of my Komplete 7 upgrade (which is kind of a rip, but thats for another thread). Dark Star 2 is not a normal delay or reverb effect processor but it combines clever both worlds. It’s also part of the new Komplete Start bundle (6 GB of instruments and effects) which is also available for free.Well, the first time I played with it. Native Instruments Reaktor 6.3 Player is available now as a free download from the NI website. But Reaktor is a complete DSP environment to build your own Instruments and effects. One thing Native Instruments should improve in the new Rack system: make the hundreds of amazing free modules from the User Library compatible with the full version of Reaktor 6.3. Native Instruments Reaktor has been around for ages and the factory synths that come with it like Razor, Monark, Form and Rounds to just name a few, are incredible. In my opinion, this new version of Reaktor Player is a great introduction to the modular synthesis world which cost you nothing and makes a lot of fun. ![]() On top, you can use all other best-known 3rd party synths and effects by Blinksonic, Twisted Tools, Tim Exile, Heavyocity with the free version of Reaktor. So you can use the Blocks released by Native Instruments and the partners like Unfiltered Audio, TOYBOX, GENKI… because they don’t require the full version of Reaktor 6. It includes, and is therefore 'powered by', Reaktor Player, which functions as a VST Plugin, an Audio Units Plugin and an AAX Plugin. ![]() Important to know is that Reaktor 6.3 Player also supports the new Blocks ecosystems. Razor by Native Instruments is a Virtual Instrument and a Virtual Effect Audio Plugin and Soundware (samples or presets that load into other products) for macOS and Windows. Additional, it includes two sequencers (notes and mod) and some utility modules. It contains modules that explain mainly the classic analog signal flow very well (VCO, VCF, VCA, envelope, LFO…). What has gone down a bit, Reaktor 6.3 Player has also been released, which is now shipped with Blocks Base, a fully modular synthesizer with 24 blocks modules. Native Instruments has published Reaktor 6.3 over the weekend, which now allows front panel patching. ![]()
